Having the best of both worlds
Jun 8th, 2008 •Wrapping it up I need to mention something I learned from John Resig a few weeks ago about Firefox. (I am a bit late on this one. It’s been around for months.)

I had been itching to install FIre Fox 3 on my OS but I held off because one of my favorite add-ons, Firebug, was not supported at the time.
After a few Google searches I came across his post about multiple installs of FIrefox with a few key strokes on the command line and creating a unique user profile for FF3.
I had to educate myself a bit on command line functions before I could complete the task. I found some help here and there and in no time I was able to run both FF2 + FF3.
I have yet to apply this technique to installing multiple versions of other software but looks like this could come in handy again someday.
