Last night I upgraded my version of Wordpress from 2.3.3 to 2.5 without many glitches at all. The one area I had a slight bit of difficulty was with Laster Chan’s plugin WP-Email.

This plug-in offers the blogger the ability to offer their readers the opportunity to email full postings or page content to a friend. The plug-in is simple to use and offers the ability to customize the email template that is sent.

When upgrading your WP version it is recommended that you first deactivate all your plugins and back up any data tables they may populate and store information. Additionally with the upgrade to Wordpress 2.5 you should check your plug-in compatibility to ensure you can still use your plug-ins.

I did just that with Lester Chan’s WP-Email but I had to really search for the version he updated specifically for WP 2.5. Because the way in which WP 2.5 has changed the inner workings of its Permalink structures.

After reading through all the forms and seeing similar failures and frustrations I wanted to provide a link to the WP-Email 2.5 plug-in version. So here it is. This is still in beta according to Lester and updates are to come but for now it is working for my blog and many others, BUT make sure to follow his readme.html.
